The president of the Republic, Gabriel Boric gave a speech this Sunday afternoon after attending the change of command in Argentina, when Javier Milei took over as president.
For example, the Chilean Head of State greets his trans-Andean counterpart, and talks about the forest fires that are destroying our country.
In this way, he wished President Milei “good governance” and “the best for his country.” In addition, he emphasized that “there is no doubt the brotherhood of our people“.
“We will work together for the benefit of our people”
“We are present in the name of the State of Chile and, therefore, in the name of the people of Chile, to reaffirm a historic and close relationship between our country and Argentina“, the President began by speaking his speech.
“The brotherhood of our people is without doubt and cannot be doubted, and as I said before, and I said this to President Milei, We will work together, I hope together, without hesitation, to find good of our people,” he continued.
Then, he mentioned that the work will focus “especially in the areas of infrastructure development and border connectivity where we have development projects like the bioceanic corridor in the north.”
On the occasion, the Head of State also thanked “former president Alberto Fernández for their willingness to work together even before I became president.
“Beyond the known and public differences he may have had with President Milei, I hope for the sake of the Argentine people that they have good governance and that this is the best for his country,” he added.
Forest fires in Chile
Before finishing his speech, he mentioned that “in these twenty hours that I have been outside Chile, I keep in constant contact with the authorities in charge of monitoring and assisting the fires affecting the central sectors of our country.
“You know that We are better prepared to deal with these situations, but we will have a complicated summer. We know it will be difficult in terms of fire, so I want to repeat the call to our population to follow the instructions of the security agencies,” he said.
