Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power, urged the territories this Monday to analyze how much more they can contribute and produce for the benefit of the population, during a working meeting with the Municipal presidents Assemblies of People’s Power.

In the event, held by videoconference from the Baraguá room of the National Capitol, the President of the Parliament insisted on the development of municipal autonomy and the effective implementation of the Municipal Development Strategy, the Assembly reported on its website.

We need to improve the functioning of the municipal assemblies as the highest body of State power in their demarcation, especially their control and demand from local institutions and that they are accountable for their management, said Lazo Hernández.

He called for a systematic review, for the people, of the development of local agro-industry production, discussing what can be done to move forward in the face of current challenges, and ensure that the company of the socialist state fulfills in his role as the main. economic actor. Cuban.

The parliamentary head recalled that in the month of December this year the Ministry of Industries will report and the National Assembly will be informed of the results of the highest inspection carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, exercises that should contribute to the transformation and strengthening of agroindustrial production in the country.

Alberto López Díaz, governor of Villa Clara, agreed that the current moments are complex and challenging, but they also provide an opportunity to grow in the face of challenges, with alternatives and new methods of work, based on the experience that gathered by people and by people. revolution.

The governor of Camagüey, Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia, insisted that leaders at all levels must be involved with the people, popular councils, neighborhoods and communities, and acknowledged the role of the provincial authorities in always supporting the municipality and companies with losses so that they can continue to face that situation.

Regarding the decision of the Council of State to postpone, until the first quarter of next year, the implementation of the first accountability process of the delegates to the municipal assemblies to their voters, in the 18th mandate; This body determines that, to replace it, the presidents of the assemblies of Popular Power in each municipality, establish the necessary coordination for the rest of the year, to release the delegates whose activity allows it from their functions in work and increase their relationship. permanent attention to their constituents.

Miriam Brito Sarroca, president of the Commission for Attention to Local Bodies of Popular Power, explained how the release of delegates from their work in each territory is progressing, as established in this agreement.

Lazo Hernández emphasized the importance of this process, not only to respond to the concerns of the population, but also for the detailed monitoring of all tasks, including food production, crime prevention, energy saving and the link to non-state forms of governance.

The president of the State Council emphasized that in order to increase food production, the development of the Law on Food Sovereignty and Food Security and Nutrition should be monitored by each popular council and municipality, according to the existing potential.

He insisted on the permanent attention of the producers at the local level, and on the systematic control of the crops and land granted by usufruct at the territorial level.

Rafael Ernesto Licea Mojena, president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power of Isla de la Juventud, commented on how the development of the pine territory in the local self-sufficiency program and the main goals set.

Before ending, Lazo Hernández called for continuing to promote the work of changing the neighborhoods, with the participation and contribution of all, with unity and determination in the face of the complex moments of the current national movement.
