Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power, urged the territories this Monday to analyze how much more they can contribute and produce for the benefit of the population, during a working meeting with the Municipal presidents Assemblies of People’s Power.
In the event, held by videoconference from the Baraguá room of the National Capitol, the President of the Parliament insisted on the development of municipal autonomy and the effective implementation of the Municipal Development Strategy, the Assembly reported on its website.

The parliamentary head recalled that in the month of December this year the Ministry of Industries will report and the National Assembly will be informed of the results of the highest inspection carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, exercises that should contribute to the transformation and strengthening of agroindustrial production in the country.

Miriam Brito Sarroca, president of the Commission for Attention to Local Bodies of Popular Power, explained how the release of delegates from their work in each territory is progressing, as established in this agreement.
Lazo Hernández emphasized the importance of this process, not only to respond to the concerns of the population, but also for the detailed monitoring of all tasks, including food production, crime prevention, energy saving and the link to non-state forms of governance.
The president of the State Council emphasized that in order to increase food production, the development of the Law on Food Sovereignty and Food Security and Nutrition should be monitored by each popular council and municipality, according to the existing potential.
He insisted on the permanent attention of the producers at the local level, and on the systematic control of the crops and land granted by usufruct at the territorial level.
Rafael Ernesto Licea Mojena, president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power of Isla de la Juventud, commented on how the development of the pine territory in the local self-sufficiency program and the main goals set.
