Although the station changes the characters’ names, the man laments that it has never asked permission to use the teacher’s story.
tvN television channel is involved in a controversy as Leandro Villegas, brother of the late professor Nibaldo Villegas, talks about the next season of the series Alma Negra, which deals with controversial criminal cases.
For the occasion, the station announced new chapters that will deal with the brutal homicide that ended the life of the teacher, who was murdered in 2018 by his wife Johanna Hernandez, and her lover Francisco Silva.
The new cycle of the controversial series will be released this Thursday, April 27, and will be called “Professor’s Crime”. It will consist of two episodes starring actors Rocio Toscano, Victor Moreno, and Benjamin Hidalgo.
In this context, Leandro, in a conversation with Pajina 7, said that neither the channel nor the production asked him for authorization to use Nibaldo’s story, for which he is currently considering taking legal action against both.
“I have never liked programs that over-expose the criminals and do not see how the victims are (…) We are very affected by this situation because they forget about the family,” the man said.
Furthermore, Leandro said that he found out about the program through an advertisement. “My brother warned me because of the publicity I got on television. Nobody informed us or asked us for authorization, that’s the trouble,” he said angrily.
Although the Alma Negra program changes the names of the characters, it is not the first time that it has generated controversy, as its previous season dealt with the case of MarÃa del Pilar Pérez, better known as “La Quintana”. A woman serving a life sentence for triple homicide became aware of the audiovisual production and initiated judicial action.
Not only that but on another occasion tvN also had to cancel the airing of some episodes of the series “Me Culpa” because they were inspired by the murder of teenager Amber Cornejo, whose family pressured the station not to air them on television.
