He reminded the candidates that they signed a commitment to respect the result.
From the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) they call on citizens to vote in the primary on Sunday, October 22, to choose the opposition candidate for the 2024 presidential elections.
Andrea Tavares led a press conference this Thursday where he noted that “we expect an important participation on October 22 and that this is the first step towards victory in 2024.
“We are united and we are ready for the victory of the citizens who believe in democracy and freedom this Sunday, October 22,” added the leader.
He appreciated the work of the National Primary Commission because thanks to their strength they achieved this political route.
Also “we want to recognize the Regional Boards, the regional platforms, that are working to make this political proposal a reality.”
He insisted that this Sunday’s election is a citizens’ process. They have 30 thousand volunteers to work in the country and about seven thousand abroad.
“We immediately approved the commitment signed by the candidates and endorsed by all political organizations to respect the results this Sunday and build this victory for all Venezuelans in unity,” he said.
They send a message of optimism to the citizens about the process because they are building a change.
“Those who did everything possible to torpedo our unit have nothing to do with it. Here we remain united to build this victory. Unity is the guarantee of this victory,” said Tavares.
He took the opportunity to welcome the release of the imprisoned opponents. “We are very happy, celebrating and we send our solidarity hug to the relatives of the released political prisoners and we will continue to fight for everyone’s freedom,” he added.
