QB Ravens Lamar Jackson is absent from training again; status for Sunday vs Packers could fall on the wire

Voronov quarterback Lamar Jackson was absent from open training Thursday, missing out for a second straight day as he continues to recover from an ankle sprain he suffered against the Browns on Sunday.

Ravens’ offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Jackson is receiving treatment around the clock and his status in Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers could drop to the limit.

“He’s a good healer, but we need to see what [doctors] tell me, – said Roman.

Should Jackson fail to travel, backup defender Tyler Huntley will be starting for the second time this season. Veteran quarterback Josh Johnson, who played for the Ravens of the New York Jets’ coaching team on Wednesday, trained on Thursday.

Jackson is among the 11 missing players. Tight-end Nick Boyle (knee) and striker Patrick Mekari (arm) did not enter the field due to limited entrants on Wednesday.

Defensive tackle Cale Campbell (thigh), defender Patrick Ricard (back / knee) and offensive players Alejandro Villanueva (knee), Ben Powers (foot) and Tyr Phillips (illness) were absent for the second day in a row.

Wide receiver Marquis “Hollywood” Brown, defender Chuck Clark and defender Brandon Williams were also absent.

Wide receivers Tylan Wallace (concussion), midfielder Justin Houston (rest), corner-backs Chris Westry (knee) and Tavon Young (rest) are back from their absence yesterday.

The official injury report will be released today.
