Cuban Delegation Pays Courtesy to Queen Mother of Cambodia

HAVANA, 26 May (RHC) – At the end of the visit of a delegation of the Cuban Women’s Association (FMC) in Phnom Penh, senior leaders from the Cambodian and Cuban region highlighted the pivotal role played by women in society. ,
The assessment was made at a meeting between Teresa Amarel, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Secretary General of the FMC, and Kuntha Fawi, Cambodia’s Minister of Women’s Affairs.
Both also mentioned the policies of the government aimed at promoting more and more women presence in various spheres of the society.
At the same time, they recognized the progress made in relations between the two countries in areas such as health, sports and agriculture.
Amarelle highlighted the work done by its hostess as head of a portfolio with wide consequences in that empire, and took the opportunity to apply the August 23 distinction conferred by FMC.
The Cuban delegation received a courtesy call from the Queen Mother of Cambodia, Norodom Monineth, who expressed the King Father, Norodom Sihanouk’s deep appreciation for the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016).
His Majesty also praised the feat of the Cuban woman, her meritorious presence on all fronts and recognized her position as a standard bearer in solidarity medicine.
For her part, the Cuban woman leader, in a meeting attended by His Excellency Norodom Arunrasmi, thanked the Kingdom of Cambodia for Cuba’s continued support.
During their stay in the Asian country, the FMC delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister Kiti Sangha Bondit Men Sam An, who reaffirmed Cambodia’s unconditional support for Cuba’s struggle to lift the US economic, commercial and financial blockade. (Source: CubanMinerx)
