Rancho Cucamonga distributed about 1,000 free COVID-19 testing kits in an hour on Friday, January 14, amid the region’s latest winter surge in coronavirus cases.
Residents drove through the parking lot of Quakes Stadium before being given one set of two tests per vehicle.
The city-sponsored event comes as demand for tests designed to detect a positive case of COVID-19 in minutes far exceeds supply. San Bernardino County suspended distribution of test kits at its 10 sites this week due to a lack of supplies.
