Republicans won’t vote to raise Democrats Democrats’ biased budget plan: McConnell

Senate Republicans will not vote to raise the debt limit at this time because Democrats plan to spend trillions of dollars, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ki.) And other Republican leaders said Wednesday.

The House of Representatives voted on party lines this week to pass a bill that would have included a moratorium on debt until after the mid-2022 election. The Senate plans to vote on the measure next week.

“We all agree that America will never be the default. Debt limits need to be raised, ”McConnell told reporters in Washington.

But the “reckless” Democrat spending plan, which includes a measure of ধরা 3.5 trillion, and the way Democrats are acting on a “biased basis” means the party needs to figure out how to raise the debt limit without a GOP vote, Kentucky Senator Dr.

“Democrats can deal with all of us because they have the House, the White House and the Senate. So that’s their responsibility, ”added Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Chairman of the National Republican Senate Committee.

Democrats have a 220-212 majority in the House and a one-vote majority in the 50-50 Senate for control of the White House.

Democrats have struggled to pass legislation since President Joe Biden took office. Republicans have criticized many of their plans, and several moderate Democrats, including Sen. Joe Manchin (DW.Va.), have refused to vote for some more radical proposals.

The White House warned last week that the federal debt crisis could lead to a recession as it pushes for raising or suspending the debt ceiling.

Representative John Yarmuth (D-Ki.), Chairman of the House Budget Committee, on Sunday tried to blame McConnell for not passing a bill that would do one or the other.

“The position that Republicans, primarily Sen. Mitch McConnell, has taken is completely irresponsible,” Yarmouth said. “Mitch just said that every Republican in the U.S. Senate was ready to vote for the federal government to default. That’s what he said. I think it’s a violation of the constitutional oath. If we actually default, it would be a financial disaster,” he added later.

Yarmouth on Monday, however, noted that Democrats could raise the debt limit without a Republican vote. But he said they don’t want to do that.

“They don’t want people to know how much money they want to spend and take orrow. They do not want the American people to know that they do not want to put dollars into their irresponsible reckless spending.

“The American people see through this, they know that they will be taxed, everyone will pay in one way or another through inflation by raising taxes on retirement savings, even their income until death. If Democrats want to go it alone, they have to go it alone.

Democrats and Republicans worked to push the ceiling limit in 2019 and then-President Donald Trump signed the bill. The ceiling was suspended for two years, but has been in effect since July 1. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the ceiling is the maximum amount that the Treasury Department can issue to the public or other federal agencies. It was reset this year to $ 22 trillion and susn which was at the time of suspension.
