Anne Wormley has bought and sold homes three times in the past decade. Each time, the 71-year-old turned to The Stellar Group for help.
“If I move again, I wouldn’t consider working with another company,” she says. “Stellar goes above and beyond what you’d expect a realty company to do.”
And Bill DeHmlow, broker-associate of The Stellar Group, helped every time.
Stellar Group helped Wormley purchase their new homes and provide services to price and prepare their existing homes for sale, including complimentary full-service staging and strategic improvements to increase marketability.
In 2012, while caring for her husband with Alzheimer’s, Wormley decided to downsize and sell their Southern Hills home and moved to a smaller, more manageable ranch-style home in Cheri Knowles.
After they settled, Wormley contacted Stellar Group owner Conrad Stellar for advice on renovations to improve the new home for his use and to better prepare it for future sale.
“It’s not a company that helps you buy or sell and then forgets you,” says Wormley. “I know I can trust them. I can ask them for referrals, and they will always provide people who can help me.”
finding the right home
A few years later, due to the need to further reduce the size, the couple moved to a village in Knowles’ townhome. Even though Wormley wanted to move back to the coveted open space, she bought a “temporary townhome” to settle in the community, knowing that if the perfect house popped up, she would move in again.
And it did eventually. After three years of searching he found the house of his dreams. Stellar Group helped him submit the winning bid.
The move was the most difficult as her husband was converting to a memory care center while Wormley was recovering from bronchitis. Still, he followed Demlo’s advice and took his home off the market before interest rates increased.
“They arranged for my townhome to be cleaned, fully staged and ready so that we could get it on the market in two days,” she says.
Stellar Group listed the house on Friday, held an open house on Saturday attended by 75 people, and as of Sunday, the townhome was under contract.
“Pricing is key, and Stellar Group is really smart at knowing when and how to price a home so it sells,” says Wormley.
The best part is that she is running with over $10,000 paid for her new home.
Acting quickly was the key, Dehmlow says.
“If we had waited a week or two, we might not have gotten the price it is now.”
