Rita Ora stunned as The Voice Australia contestant performs one of her biggest hits

British pop star stunned as singer Asha Newman, 23, launched in an acoustic cover of RIP – Rita’s hit single from 2012.

After the performance, Rita was so happy that she stood on her feet to give Asha a standing ovation.

The track took her to number one in the UK charts, and Rita, 31, became emotional as she explained what it meant to her.

“I am emotionally attached to that song because that song started my career. It’s kind of a redemption record,’ she said.

Rita then praised Asha’s performance of the track, which she rearranged to suit her acoustic vocals.

“He was so fluid, it was fluid, it was almost like you were having a conversation,” Rita praised.

‘It was so pure. I love doing acoustics, and you stripped it back and you really told the story. Your voice was perfect. It was so pure.

Asha then had to choose which judges she would go with for her coach after both Rita and Jessica Mauboy – whom Asha also loves – switched their chairs.

Eventually, the singer from NSW’s Central Coast went with Rita, who was happy to have her, and ran to hug her.

‘I loved it! I love you I love you! You were great!’ As an overwhelmed young singer, Rita thanked him.
