Rodrigo Romero, co-director of the Green Party, was caught drunk driving a truck destined for Congress

In the early hours of this Sunday, December 10, Rodrigo Romero Hernández, co-director of the Green Alliance Party, during a control operation by the traffic authorities, was caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

The incident happened in Carrera 33 between streets 33 and 34 in Bucaramanga. The politician travels in a high-end truck and carries a free movement permit issued by the Senate of the Republic.

Carlos Bueno, director of Tránsito Bucaramanga, reported the event on his X account, a social network formerly known as Twitter. “We remain committed to the frontal fight we declared against drunk drivers because of the high risk they represent for the lives of citizens and road safety,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that the co-director of the Green Party, apparently, must pay a fine of 25 million pesos and lose his driver’s license for 10 years.

According to Bueno, “when he got out of the car, Rodrigo Romero underwent the corresponding evaluations and the breathalyzer test revealed level 3 alcohol intoxication. Immediately, legal procedures were carried out, immobilizing the vehicle and issuing individual summons.”

The official highlighted the performance made by the Transit agents and approved their commitment to the institution. “The application of the law is for everyone, regardless of the social status, position or position they hold, because our commitment is to continue #SavingLivesOnTheRoad and DTB continues Road Safety,” he concluded.
