Russia: Kirill Stremosov, senior in charge of the invasion of Ukraine, dies

Kirill Stremosov, a senior official of the Russian occupation in the Ukrainian region of Kherson, died on Wednesday, a Russian leader said, at a time when that area is the axis of a Ukrainian counter-offensive.

“I am very sorry to announce that Kirill Stremosov died in a traffic accident in the Kherson region,” said Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Russian business administration in the region.

In recent months, several Moscow-appointed officers have been the target of sometimes deadly attacks by the Kremlin on Ukrainian secret services operating behind enemy lines.

In early March, since the conquest of the Jershon region, Kirill Stremosov has been one of the most ardent spokesman for the Russian occupation forces.,

He very often expressed himself in the pro-Kremlin media and enthusiastically supported the Russian military campaign in Ukraine.

In recent days, he has regularly talked about major evacuations taking place in the Kherson region to advance Ukrainian troops, who have been counterattacking in the region for weeks.

“This is a great tragedy, an irreparable loss”Sergei Aksionov, the head of the pro-Russian occupation of the Ukrainian territory of Crimea, occupied by Moscow, responded on Telegram.

According to various Russian media, Kirill Stremosov was born in 1976 in the Ukrainian region of Donetsk (East), partly occupied by the Russian army.
