Russia thwarts attack by Ukrainian troops in Gershno

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that Russian troops had foiled a fresh Ukrainian counterattack attempt in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine.

“In the Pravdino settlement area, the Kherson region, the enemy, with the help of two companies, supported by nine tanks and 16 armored combat vehicles of the 28th Mechanized Brigade, attempted an unsuccessful offensive,” said spokesman Igor. Konashenkov.

The Russian lieutenant general claimed that the Russian armed forces destroyed enemy equipment and killed dozens of Ukrainian soldiers.



“During the fighting, the Russian armed forces destroyed seven tanks, 13 infantry fighting vehicles in a matter of hours,” and more than 120 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the fighting, it added.

Konashenkov also announced that Russian forces destroyed four Ukrainian rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition depots in the Kharkov and Zaporizhia regions and in the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

Similarly, air defense systems shot down eight Kyiv regime drones in Zaporia, Gershon and Nikolaev provinces and Donetsk.



Russian aerospace forces killed more than 50 Ukrainian nationalists and more than 10 special technical units in the Kharkov region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

For several weeks, Ukraine has been bombing the plant’s facilities daily, using Western supplied weapons.

Ukraine’s military launched new artillery attacks on the center of Donetsk this morning, the city’s mayor Alexei Kulemzin announced.

According to preliminary estimates, the invasion launched by Kyiv on this day killed one person in the Petrovsky district, located on the outskirts of the city, as well as four others in the Voroshilovsky district near the Drama Theater. Three other people were injured.

Similarly, Kulemzin indicated that in the Voroshilovsky district a projectile hit the administration building, the roof of which was destroyed.
