The existence of these facilities poses a real threat to the epidemiological situation in Russia, where it is suspected that the products are produced as the basis for biological weapons, the above ministry condemned.
The Pentagon’s activity, with laboratories under its control, creates problems at the epidemiological level, characterized by a social impact infection, said Igor Kirilov, chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ chemical, biological and radioactive defense troops.
The lieutenant-general pointed out that the above epidemiological conditions created by the activity of laboratories under US control are attributable to the presence of infectious diseases for the region.
Since 2010, a significant increase in diseases such as brucellosis, Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever, West Nile fever or African swine fever has been detected in Ukraine’s border areas with Russia, the senior official condemned.
He said that the presence of carriers of these diseases has also increased for no apparent reason.
He said the US administration is not only seeking to take the region out of scrutiny, but is also seeking to move the aforementioned Military Biological Studies Centers from Ukraine to other Eastern European countries to continue research.
The expansion of the network of laboratories in which biological weapons can be made poses a threat to the military security of the Russian Federation, the lieutenant general emphasized.
In the first days, following the start of a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, announced by President Vladimir Putin, Russian troops confiscated documents and evidence of the existence of Pentagon-controlled laboratories in the neighboring country.
