Pilar and Dolores Vázquez – better known as the Sabadell twins – will spend a good time in prison, despite their efforts to separate themselves from the crime of Pedro Fernández – the boyfriend of the second – and trying to get the first partner – Isaac Gil – the one to blame. The Provincial Court of Barcelona sentenced the sisters to 16 and 20 years in prison, respectively. While the penalty for brother-in-law and confessed murderer the victim has been in prison for 17 years.
The jury considered that it was proven that Pilar and Dolores conspired on “a plan aimed at achieving death” of Pedro, who died early in the morning of July 10, 2021 as a result of the plagues – many – that Isaac struck him “with a metal lever, which he had, which reached his head (face and skull) with great violence.” He has no mercy. He attacked her in the bedroom – where she was sleeping with her boyfriend – and also during his escapefrom the fourth floor to the third floor.
Pedro tried to escape but Isaac caught up with him, as shown in the images the neighbors they recorded through their peepholes. One of them said that he had previously heard “repeated loud knocking” which alerted him and looked behind the door. It was Isaac, who had something in his hand and what appeared to be a blanket lying on the floor. The following scenes are the confessed murderer and the Sabadell sisters are cleaning “the blood stains and organic remains resulting from aggression.”
The sentence also recalled that it was assessed as a proven fact that Pilar “uses a psychic influence, appropriate and sufficient” to Isaac with the goal that “the will to do works will be born in him.” And that premeditation is proved by “WhatsApp audios and videos” what’s up with them. In one of the pictures, Isaac is seen using electric defense and tells his partner that “this is cool.” The conversations are shocking because of the coolness with which they discuss the murder.
In the audios, Pilar recounts the plan: “he (Pedro) will go to Pilar’s house and the moment he stops breathing they will take him.” “If done correctly (stun Pedro) left fried and crushed there”, he pointed out. Dolores “knows and accepts” him, and moreover, he does not “nothing can stop the start of aggression”. Neither was Pilar, who was there during the events. Not happy about this, they then help him “move him indoors” and “clean up” the evidence.
There are no extenuating circumstances
They are considered unverifiable factshowever: that Isaac acted as a result of Pedro mistreated to Dolores, that she has a depression which limits his ability to understand the illegality of the act or that his sister Pilar suffered any commotion that would reduce his power. Therefore, the sentence says, “the defendants do not have any circumstances that change their criminal responsibility,” except for the “aggravating circumstance” of the circumstance of the twins’ relatives having a romantic relationship with the victim.
Consequently, the court convicted the three defendants responsible for the crime of a completed crime of murder with malice aforethought. Two of them — Pilar and Isaac — were sentenced to 16 and 17 years in prison. For the third -Dolores- the sentence increased due to the aggravating circumstances of the kinship and 20 years in prison. The Presiding Magistrate pointed out – however – that he considered the possibility that, although “it has not been proven”, there the ill-treatment of which he is accused and this is the possible motive for the crime.
“I must conclude that in any case such ill-treatment does not justify, in any way the defendant’s conduct,” he added. For this, they all must also pay the sum of 200,000 euros “one by one, as civil liability,” and they are burdened with state prohibition (with a term of ten years over the imposed term of imprisonment) which approaches less than 1,000 meters of the victim’s daughter.
