Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in Sri Lanka Sajith Premadasa is also in the race for the post of President. In a conversation with ABP News, Sajith Premadasa said that he is going to file nomination for the presidential election. There has been a meeting with the leaders of different opposition parties, in which it has been decided that I should file nomination as the opposition candidate.
Sajith Premadasa said that usually the President of Sri Lanka is elected by more than 20 million people here, but this is not happening right now. Right now 225 MPs will elect the President.

Sri Lanka’s Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa further said that there is nothing to hide in this. As of today, more than two-thirds of the 225 MPs support Gotabaya Rajapaksa. In such a situation, the election is difficult, but I will fight. Ranil Wickremesinghe has also announced to contest the elections. It is his opinion, but it is known to all that Ranil Wickremesinghe is close to Gotabaya Rajapaksa and how much opposition is happening against him.

Sri Lanka is going through a very bad situation. There are financial problems, immersed in debt. Necessity and basic things are not being found in the country. In such a situation, I will appeal to the international community to help Sri Lanka.
