Samsung Food is a food platform where users can find hundreds of thousands of recipes and create meal plans using a built-in wizard.
This new platform comes after Samsung bought Whisk, a popular recipe app available on Google Play and the App Store. The company’s goal is for Samsung Food to be able to access Whisk’s extensive database. Therefore, users can access more than 160,000 recipes simply by selecting the dish and the number of guests.
What is curious and different from any other recipe application is that Samsung Food is much smarter. First, the platform can recommend recipes and dishes based on previous discoveries or user preferences, as well as foods that are in season.
Samsung Food also allows the syncing of home appliances to make them easier for users to control. For example, if a recipe calls for an oven that needs to be preheated, it is possible to turn on the oven. Currently, only the Bespoke model is compatible with SmartThings, as are the rest of the devices that are compatible with the Samsung SmartThings ecosystem.
Samsung Food is also a kind of social network
Although it may not seem like it, Samsung Food is also a social platform. Indeed, this is another key and important difference from other recipe applications. In this case, user can share their recipes or dishes with other members or comment with suggestions on the results of the recipe.
