More than 100 medical staff and community members gathered in front of Ready Children’s Hospital in San Diego on October 1 to protest the hospital staff’s refusal to vaccinate.
Medical staff in California are required to fully vaccinate medical staff by September, or apply for a vaccination waiver based on medical, religious or personal beliefs. However, Ready Children’s Hospital says that since more than 70 percent of the hospital’s patients cannot be vaccinated by age (12 years or younger), medical staff in direct contact with patients must be vaccinated and cannot apply for exemption.
Alicia Fregosso, a 15-year-old registered nurse working in the intensive care unit at Ready Children’s Hospital, told The Epoch Times:
“There were three of us [to] It will take four days to get it or otherwise leave in our absence, which is why I am here now. I don’t have a vaccine, and I can’t come to work now. ”
For several months, obsolete medical staff at Ready Children’s Hospital had to undergo a bi-weekly Covid-1 test. On September 2, the hospital suddenly refused to accept medical and religious exemptions, Fregosso said.
“The reason for the readiness is that the majority of our patient population cannot yet get vaccinated, so it is for their safety. However, I had Kovid before me as a nurse. I have natural immunity and I have antibodies. I check regularly, and I know my immune system is still working, ”he said.
Fragoso said his vaccinated colleagues at the hospital did not need to be tested, “and they are still allowed to work even if they are positive. [if] They have no symptoms. ”
Another registered nurse at Ready Children’s Hospital, 15, who asked not to be named, said: “Everyone knows the real evidence that whether you are vaccinated or vaccinated, you can spread covid disease anyway. The kids that I take care of, and why am I not safe to take care of the family and them every day? [vaccinated] Is? “
“I have done all the tests twice a week, as the state has fixed and the Ready Children’s Hospital is complying. I wore all the PPE I needed, and yet they completely denied us [our] Rights. ”
Some of the protesters at the rally work in other hospitals and live in nearby communities.
Laura George, a registered nurse working at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, said her hospital allowed medical staff to apply for a waiver, so she came to take part in the protest in support of her children’s hospital colleagues who could not apply for a waiver. . He added that many nurses who were infected with Covid-1 had acquired natural immunity.
“Vaccines are not spreading and they are not testing them. Only people are being tested without vaccines, “George told The Epoch Times.
“There is no science behind it. If you talk to a senior person in the hospital, they will tell you that it has nothing to do with science.
Dennis Bond, who worked as a registered nurse at another Sharp Memorial Hospital for 34 years, said he was fired because he did not comply with the Covid-1n nasal swab test. He spoke out against the order of masks, tests and vaccines during the rally.
“It simply came to our notice then. We live in the United States, where we have the right to choose, or should have, ”Bond told The Epoch Times.
Some of the protesters were flying American flags and many were holding handwritten signboards that read: “Order? Let’s choose freedom, “” We stand together for freedom, “” Vaccine does not have a passport! “Etc.
There are also signs that read: “Last year’s hero, this year’s zero,” referring to medical staff who did the most work during the Kovid-1 pandemic epidemic last year.
Ben Metcalfe, a spokesman for Ready Children’s Hospital, told reporters that the hospital was not receiving media inquiries on October 1. However, the hospital had earlier said that a total of 201 out of 5,16 medical staff had applied for the Covid-1 vaccine, which was waived and rejected.
