Santander allowed 3 hits and 3 runs; Orioles beat Guardians 8-5

BALTIMORE (AP) — Anthony Santander hit a bases-clearing triple during a five-run second inning before adding a pair of doubles as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Baltimore Orioles 8-5 on Tuesday night.Cleveland.

Kyle Gibson (7-3) won his third straight start, allowing three runs and seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. Baltimore built an 8–1 lead in the sixth inning but had to turn to their main reliever to end it.

The score was 8–5, with the potential tying run in the batter’s box when Cuban Yener Cano took third in the seventh inning. In the top of the eighth he allowed a pair of straight singles.

And with the tying the plate again, the Keepers missed the opportunity. Felix Bautista pitched a perfect ninth inning for 14 saves in 18 chances.

The Orioles took a 2–0 lead in the first inning when right-hander Will Brennan could not control a two-out liner by Gunnar Henderson. The ball went over Brennan’s head, which set badly, and Henderson was credited with a two-run double.

The loss went to starter Cal Quantrill (2-4).

For the Guardians, it was 4-1 with a run by Dominican Amade Rosario, 5-1 with a run by Jose Ramirez. Andres Jimenez of Venezuela 4-2 with an RBI.

For the Orioles, Venezuelan Santander drove in two runs and scored three runs to go up 4–3. Mexican Ramon Urías scored a run to seal the 3–1 win. Dominican Jorge Mateo scored a single to make it 4–1.
