Bolston Spa – The man who tried to detain the Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputy on a warrant has been arrested, which led to a lockdown at the Bolston Spa school on Thursday, sheriff’s officials said on Sunday.
He also faces a new felony charge, which was charged with injuring the deputy, officials said.
Kevin J., 26, of Clifton Park. Dahl was arrested on Saturday on a fresh count of second-degree assault, a felony and misdemeanor resisting arrest, along with an original probation violation warrant.
Officials said the incident began around 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the Public Safety Building, when Dahl arrived there to collect the property.
However, the deputy soon determined that Dahl had actively violated the probation warrant for his arrest, officials said. When the deputy started taking Dahl into custody, he fled the scene.
In the process, Dahl is accused of injuring the deputy, officials said.
The search for Dahl continued into the early hours of Thursday afternoon, and the search led the school resource officer to put Balston Spa Central School District on lockdown as a precaution, officials said.
Officials said there was no direct threat to the district from the suspect.
The authorities at the time sought the public’s help in locating Dahl. Officials indicated on Sunday that they appreciated the assistance of members of the public who called with suggestions and information.
Officials said Dahal was arrested and ordered to be held without bail for further action.
