Two days after the killing of three people, including the brother-in-law of Senator Ricardo Monreal, 800 troops from the Ministry of National Defense arrived in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, to strengthen security.
The governor of the state, David Monreal Avila, announced the implementation of two street patrol operations,Safe Colony” and “Night Watch,” to take care of the population of the colony.
“800 elements of the Mexican Army will arrive to join this peace effort, and now the device starts. Also here in Fresnillo, “Colonia Segura,” we go from neighborhood to neighborhood,” he emphasized.
The “Night Watchman” operation also manages the security forces, and the armed forces can be used every day to serve the population 24 hours a day.
Governor David Monreal made this announcement in a press conference held at the facilities of the 97 military battalions located in Fresnillo, Zacatecas.
Among the 800 elements of the Army, there are soldiers from special forces with armored units and high-powered weapons.
During his message, the governor of Zacatecas took the opportunity to defend his security policy, and he emphasized that despite these homicides, his strategy was sound.
“We are doing well with the strategy; so far in December and January alone, we have achieved a reduction in crimes through 60 on the road. We will not give up; we will continue our fight firmly,” she said.
On Wednesday, the municipal director was killed in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, in social development: Juan Pérez Guardado, brother-in-law of Senator Ricardo Monreal; later, Cecilio Murillo Murillo, brother of the mayor of Sombrerete; and hours later, right there, the bean merchant José Luis Olvera.
