Senator Releases Fauci’s Financial Information

The two most recent financial disclosures of Dr. Anthony Fauci have been released to the public by the senator.

Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) received and released documents (pdf) that cover 2020 and 2019.

The forms show that Fauci’s investments are in market funds, as are his wife’s investments.

They also show that he is worth millions of dollars.

Lawrence Tabak, now director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), signed the forms in May 2021, about a month after they were submitted. He said Fauci complied with applicable laws and regulations.

Fauci’s 2021 disclosure is due later this year.

Fauci is required to disclose information about himself and immediate family under the Government Ethics Act of 1978, but disclosure was not readily available.

Fauci directs the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the NIH.

A NIAID spokesperson told The Epoch Times that the forms can only be released if a specific document has been completed for them. The document says the forms will only be available by mail or in person, not online. The agency did not answer the question of how long it would take to deliver the documents to the applicant.

Marshall received the results two days after he wrote to Fauci on Jan. 12 following a controversial Senate hearing during which he clashed with a doctor over the forms.

Marshall noted that several federal officials, including Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Richard Clarida, had recently resigned due to their failure to properly report their financial transactions, and said that “the impression is that there may be some something shenanigans” with Fauci, who regularly finds out about the cases in front of the general public before adding, “I’m guessing it’s not.”

Fauci insisted that the forms had been “common knowledge” for decades. He has led the institute since 1984.

After the forms were published, Marshall accused Fauci of lying about them.

“Just as he misled the American people about sending taxpayer dollars to Wuhan, China to fund research to increase functionality, about masks, trials and more, Dr. Fauci was completely dishonest in that his financial disclosures were open to the public – no wonder he is the least trusted bureaucrat in America,” Marshall said in a statement.

“At the end of the day, Dr. Fauci should be held accountable to all Americans who have sued and requested this information but do not have the authority of the Senate office to request it. For these reasons, I will introduce the FAUCI Act so that financial disclosures like these are made public and easily accessible online for every American,” he added.

NIAID did not respond to recent requests for comment on disclosures.

The legislation would require disclosures filed by officials such as Fauci to be available on the Office of Government Ethics website, Marshall’s office said.

Last year, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services, NIH’s parent agency, to disclose documents filed by Fauci. The organization filed on behalf of OpenTheBooks.com, which said its attempts to obtain the documents were blocked by government officials.

“No one is above the law, including Dr. Anthony Fauci. No subpoena or legal action is required to force the release of the basic employment documents that executive-level federal bureaucrats are required by law to file,” Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of the website, said at the time.

In a recent filing in the case, government lawyers said they were working to create the requested records, including trying to figure out Fauci’s current job description. The court ordered the parties to file a joint status report by 10 February.
