Sex and the City actor Chris Noth, accused of sexual assault, denies allegations

LOS ANGELES – Actor Chris Noth was charged with sexually assaulting two women during separate meetings that took place in 2004 and 2015, according to a report released Thursday.

The Hollywood Reporter has not released the names of the women to protect their privacy, the publication reported, which instead used pseudonyms for them.

Noth, 67, who starred in Sex and the City and briefly appeared in its recently released sequel, And Just Like It …, said in a statement to Reporter that the meetings were arranged.

“The accusations against me made by people I have met many years, even decades ago, are categorically false. These stories could have been retrieved 30 years ago or 30 days ago – doesn’t always mean no – that’s a line I haven’t crossed, ”Noth said in a statement to Reporter.

“It’s hard not to doubt the timing of these stories. I do not know for sure why they are emerging now, but I do know one thing: I did not attack these women, ”he said.

Publicist Noth did not respond to a request for additional comment. The call to the lawyer who was listed as representing him was not immediately returned.

According to the publication, the two women independently and within a few months contacted the Hollywood Reporter. One of them, under the pseudonym Zoya, said that the revival of the character Not from Sex and the City, an urban man nicknamed Mr. Big, “something in me excited” and prompted her to declare herself, “Who is he? she told the reporter.

She asked not to be identified because she works in the entertainment industry and fears the consequences if she is identified.

Nota’s character dies in the first episode of “And Just Like That …” following a heart attack after an intense training session on a Peloton bike. The motorcycle maker scoffed at the attention to the episode sparked by the Noth ad, but the ad was withdrawn Thursday after a reporter posted it.

Upon media inquiries, the LAPD checked and found Noth’s open investigation and found none, Police Sergeant. Hector Guzman said. According to Sheriff Captain Richard Ruiz, there is also no open investigation at the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Bureau of Victims’ Affairs.

Zoe, now 40, claims she was assaulted at Noth’s Los Angeles apartment in 2004 when she was 22. She met Noth because he was doing business with the firm she worked for, the newspaper said.

A friend told the Reporter that she took Zoya to Cedars Sinai Hospital where she told staff that she had been attacked and treated for her injury. A friend, whose identity is not listed in the story, said the police were called, but Zoe refused to give the name of her attacker.

Her then-unidentified boss said that Zoe told her about the attack later that day, but asked to keep it a secret, according to the story. In January 2006, Zoya sought advice from the Anti-Rape Crisis Center, which the center confirmed to the Reporter, while keeping the details secret.

Another woman named Lily, now 31 and a journalist, said she met Noth in 2015, when she was 25, and she worked as a waiter in the VIP section of a now-closed NYC nightclub. She recalled crying and feeling “offended” when Noth suddenly began sex.

According to a friend, whom the reporter identified as Alex, a distraught Lily called her and said that Noth had “rather violently” had sex with her in his apartment. Alex said she turned down the advice to call the police.

Lily told the publication that she did not remember the call.

In messages that Noth and Lily allegedly exchanged and reviewed by The Reporter, Noth allegedly referred to “our night last week,” calling it “very fun,” and adding, “I’m not really sure how you feel. “

In her response, according to the newspaper, Lily said that she “definitely liked” his company, but “I did feel a little used up.” She said she postponed his further attempts to meet.

The allegations prompted a harsh online post from actor Zoe Lister-Jones, who worked with Noth when he was on Law & Order and she was a guest star.

“Last week, a friend of mine asked me how I felt about Mr. Big’s death on Just Like that, and I honestly said I felt relieved,” she wrote. “He asked why, and I told him that it was because I cannot separate the actor from the man, and this man is a sexual predator.”

Lister-Jones recalled how, during one take, he leaned over to sniff her neck and said, “You smell good.”
