The Miami Heat’s most famous ex-center, Shaquille O’Neal, is planning to open a fast food restaurant in Miami, in the town of Doral. It’s the headquarters of his Big Chicken chain, which already has a presence in 14 states, including New York, California, and Texas. The facility will be located at 87 Doral Place Mall, 5635 NW 87th Ave. The opening is expected to take place before the end of 2023.
Founded in 2018, Big Chicken has partners including JRS Hospitality and Authentic Brands Group, as well as O’Neal, according to the Miami New Times. The menu focuses on chicken dishes and offers a variety of dishes, including a sandwich called Big & Sloppy that combines macaroni and cheese, fried onions, and a garlic barbecue sauce.
Also on the menu are dirty fries, fries with cheese sauce, bacon, and banana peppers drizzled with chipotle barbecue sauce. Other menu items include a plate of mac and cheese with Cheez-It topping, a banana ice cream sandwich and vanilla chip cookies for dessert
The former Miami Heat star also announced that he will open two more Big Chicken homes in the state of Florida before the end of 2024: one in Orlando, at the Market At Southside at 250 E Michigan St., before the end of 2024, and another in the City of Melbourne, at Crossroads Village, SE Corner N Wickham Rd., and Pineda Cswy.
