Phishing scams are some of the worst, using some credit card information that cybercriminals pose as. Among the latest reported cases is Shein, who sees his brand being used as a huge scam.

Trick impersonating Shein
In recent times, there has been a scam on Instagram in which the brand name Shein, an e-commerce in a special fashion, used to steal money from victims through supposed gift prizes. This scam targeted victims in several countries, including Spain, the UK, Australia, France, and Poland.
The way it works involves someone receiving a comment on a certain publication informing them that they won a Shein card worth 500 coins. The prize is quite attractive because it usually lowers our defenses and they take advantage of losing money in the end.

After sharing the fake prize, the user is led through a series of steps in which he is supposed to redeem his gift and simply has to pay 2 coins. Although this was already suspected, what the supposed winner did not know was that each payment was actually signed at a price of 33 coins every 14 days.
Avast has reported this as a scam
It is the big threat investigators who reported the fake account to Instagram and pointed out that Shein was using his brand name for these illegal activities.
The advice they have for users is to stay away from random jokes and “prizes” as if they have won, then check if they reach the sweet accounts of these prizes, is it a real account or a fake account, which they often look like; but slight differences may be noted.
New scams like this one pop up all the time on social media, but there are several easy ways to avoid them.
