Sheriff arrested a man who allegedly threatened to shoot at a BTA rally

A San Jose man who allegedly made comments about the shooting at a valley transport agency meeting last week was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of criminal threats.

Roland LeBrun, 69, who often attends VTA meetings, made the comments during a Transport Agency Policy Advisory Committee meeting on Dec. 9, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department.

During the public comment and in response to an extensive report from VTA staff, LeBrun reportedly said, “So I’m going to be very clear. Is this my gun? Well, I know … so I won’t talk about weapons. Okay, but I’m ready to shoot and deal with this problem once and for all if nothing changes. And that deadline will be at the very beginning of the first quarter of next year. And this is my last warning to VTA. “

Following LeBrune’s alleged comments, VTA committee member and Cupertino councilor Kitty Moore said, “I find this statement a little disturbing,” before asking the agency to “investigate” the incident. The threats stem from the transport agency still struggling to recover from the mass shooting in May that killed 10 VTA employees.
