The head of the Secretariat of Social Inclusion and Gender Equality in Baja California, Miriam Cano, reiterated her strong commitment to ensure that all rights are fully guaranteed to all people; In this sense, the Secretariat, through its Director of Research and Sector Strategies, actively participates in consultation activities called “Prior, Public, Open, Regular, Good Faith, Accessible, Adequately Informed Consultation, Directed at ” People with Disabilities for the implementation of Mechanisms, Procedures and Criteria for Inclusion, Substantive Equality and Non-Discrimination, for the Ordinary Local Electoral Process 2023-2024 in Baja California.”
Cano Nuez, stated that the purpose of this consultation is to establish a space for close and effective participation, where expressions, opinions and views are focused on positive representation and forms of self-description in people with disabilities. During the meeting, it was also emphasized that these contributions will serve as the basic basis for the implementation of mechanisms, procedures or practices that promote the inclusion and substantive equality of all people within the framework of the reform of Article 139 of the Electoral Law of State of Baja California.
“It is important to participate in these consultation processes, because they highlight and emphasize the need for all voices to be heard in the State to guarantee equal opportunities and non-discrimination, in this case, in the field in the election,” he pointed out. Miriam Cano.
