Sony has revealed a new PS5 design for its digital model and one that includes a disc reader. Which for many is a PS5 Slim, although it is not a model as such, because it is a change that will end up replacing the current versions. The first thing to notice is its appearance, because the console is very light and small in both cases, in addition to presenting a central strip that divides the flaps of the body into four parts, which facilitates removing them.
The new PS5 has reduced its volume by more than 30% and its weight by 18% and 24% compared to the current models at home, an important difference that styles the body of the machine and answers one of the main complaints from some users, who think that the PS5 is too big a console. We insist, because it is necessary to consider it, that these new models replace the previous ones, whose existence is subject to the current stock.
Digital PS5, but with a reader
Yes, although it seems like a contradiction, we can now buy the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc reader separately and attach it to the PS5 Digital Edition (it costs 119 euros). The prices of both console models will remain the same as what we have now.
- PS5 Digital Edition: 449.99 euros
- PS5 with reader: 549.99 euros
Both models have a horizontal support, but we also have the possibility to buy a new vertical support compatible with all PS5 models at a price of 29,99 euros. The new PS5 will go on sale next November in the United States, and soon (when the current stock runs out) it will do so in other regions.

Size and weight of the new PS5
