Soto is already in SD These five players will dominate the next rumors

Juan Jose Soto has made so much headlines lately that one almost forgets what it’s like to see a Dominican wow everyone on the pitch.

Now that Soto is with the Padres, it’s possible that millions of “general managers” in the fanbase will be setting their eyes on another major league star, according to rumours.

Who will be the next player in the crosshairs of speculators on their next stop?

Here are five possibilities.

The judge is the greatest. He is the biggest home run hitter in the Majors and will be the biggest free agent on the market… Bryce Harper? He will be 30 when he is a free agent, which can limit his bidders. But he’s probably coming off a 60-homer season and is undoubtedly one of the biggest faces in baseball. Everyone will wait for their fate this coming winter.

DeGrome looked as impressive as ever when he returned to Citi Field on Sunday and now forms an unforgettable pairing with Max Schazer. And now, it has been revealed that DeGrom may choose to opt out of his contract with the Mets to become a free agent.

How do you put a fair price on a pitcher like DeGrom? He has played just 29 games in three years, will turn 35 before the 2023 All-Star Game and throws so brilliantly that at some point or another, he will always be battling with some injury anxiety.

Still, he’s the best shooter we’ve seen in a decade. What would be the right offer for him? What is too much? Those are very interesting questions. And we’re going to make them all winter long.

Shohei Ohtani, LD, BD, Angelenos

A little before the trade deadline, Ohtani had already passed through it. Certainly, it wasn’t the fairest thing to try to guess what an offer to the Angels was for such an effective pitcher and hitter (and with another year of contractual control of the team). But sadly, the Angels will at least have good reason to keep him in the trading market through the winter. The team is far from competitive and Ohtani will be a free agent after the 2023 season. Obviously, what another club will give him will be crucial for the “eternal” rebuilding in Anaheim. And if he hasn’t traded over the winter, pay attention to the rumors of the 2023 season before the trade deadline.

Xander Bogarts, SS, Medias Rojas

Aruban is not at the level mentioned above, but this coming winter is going to be very decisive for the Red Sox. Bogarts will be able to exit his deal after this season and many believe he will exercise that right.

Bogaerts is in the midst of another strong season and will turn 30 on October 1. And of course, Dominican Rafael Devers will be another subject to watch in Boston, also losing J.D. Martinez via free agency.

Manny Machado, 3B, Padres

How? Well, you have to see the explanation.

Machado was in the middle of an MVP campaign until a left ankle injury limited him. It was Machado who carried the San Diego team on his shoulders in the first half of the season. Now, the third baseman will have the option of opting out of the 10-year, $300 million deal he signed in 2019. Will he do? Probably not, but teammates like Fernando Tatis Jr. and Bryce Harper have big contracts, which could give Machado something else to look at.

Wow, that’s going to be a complicated situation for the Padres, who will be looking for a way to agree an extension with Soto in the meantime.
