With the aim of supporting the athletes of the State of Mexico, the General Directorate of Physical Culture and Sport, through the Department of Applied Sciences for Sport, develops a physical and medical follow-up in the various stages of athletes.
Head of the Department Jorge Luis Reynoso Barbosa explained that high-performance athletes and new talent are treated from the medical, nutritional, psychological, chiropractic and physical areas to prevent and reduce injuries.
Renoso Barbosa explained, “This multidisciplinary approach aims to shelter athletes from different angles that are applied science, it is to conduct a comprehensive assessment to identify the aspects the athlete needs to work on and to follow up closely. “
“The idea is to put the athletes in the best possible conditions, get them out as soon as possible, because if it’s not done then it’s useless for us to get out early,” the sports doctor said.

“In the specific case of Andrea Ramirez, she had multiple respiratory complications related to COVID-19; He is in a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation process and we, along with CONADE, are working so that he can be back as soon as possible and in the best conditions, without risk and in the face of the competition to come,” he concluded.
