If you are a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiary, find out when the last payment for the year 2023 will be made by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
SSI is a federal program that provides monthly payments to 7.5 million adults and children with disabilities or blindness who have income and resources below certain financial limits. It also pays people aged 65 or over without disabilities with low economic income (salary, pension, resources).
On November 1, payment number 11 was made, but one more check is still pending for this group of beneficiaries.
WHEN WILL THE LAST 2023 SSI PAYMENT BE MADE?
On Friday, December 1, the last payment corresponding to 2023 will be effective for 7.5 million beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), according to the schedule of the Social Security Administration (SSA).
You should know that the beneficiaries will receive 12 annual payments each on the 1st of each month, but if the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deposit or sending of the check will be made before the beginning of the monthly payment.
HOW MUCH CAN SSI BENEFICIARIES RECEIVE?
Recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), on December 1, will receive, on average, the following amounts:
- Individual average payment: from US$914.
- Average payment per couple: US$1,371.
HOW ARE SSI BENEFITS PAYED?
Payments for SSI beneficiaries are electronic and there are two ways to receive money from this federal program:
- Direct deposit to bank account: it’s simple and safe. You just need to contact your bank or contact SSI to receive the payment.
- Direct Express Debit Card Program – This is done through the Direct Express card, where payments are deposited according to the schedule. To do this, you must contact the Treasury Department at 1-800-333-1795 or register online.
