With both the Diaz brothers wanting to get back into the cage this year, Stephen Thompson raises his hand as a willing enemy.
Thompson (16-6-1 MMA, 11-6-1 UFC), a former two-time UFC welterweight title challenger, went on social media on Monday and said he would like to mix it up in the octagon with either Nick Diaz or Nate Diaz.
“Wonderboy” does not seem particularly picky about which member of the family he would take on, as he thinks both will be compelling matches for fans to watch.
“I want to fight (Nick Diaz) or (Nate Diaz)!” Thompson tweeted. “I have nothing but respect for both of those guys and I am ready to go. Who would not like good snake fighting ?! ”
I want to fight @ nickdiaz209 or @ NateDiaz209 ! I have nothing but respect for both of those guys and I’m ready to go. Who would not love good snake fighting ?! #respect #right to go

Thompson, no. The 39-year-old was apart in both of those games and is clearly looking for a fight against an opponent who will allow him to play his patented kickboxing game.
Nick Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) has not fought since September, when he suffered a TKO loss to Robbie Lawler in his return fight after more than six years away from active competition. His longtime coach, Cesar Gracie, recently said a return to action is at stake for a certain time of his year.
Nate, the youngest of the Diaz brothers, is walking into the cage while he wants to fight the last fight on his current UFC contract. His frustration over the inability to sign the fight was evident on social media, with Diaz praising the promotion that “slowly rolled him in” and even asking for a release.
