Current US basketball coach and NBA Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr joins RCD Mallorca’s stake following the July 1 reorganization led by President and majority shareholder Andy Kohlberg.
Steve Kerr, a universal reference in the world of basketball, joins the Balearic club: “I’m Andy Kohlberg’s friend, and we were together this summer. He told me that there had been a change of ownership and offered me the option of becoming part of the new investment group. I’m very motivated. I was in Mallorca last summer, watched a game, supported the team, and became a fan. It is a very exciting opportunity.”
Andy Kohlberg is also excited about Steve Kerr’s inclusion in the new Vermillion project: “It’s a huge step forward; when he came in a year ago and spoke to the players, he had a huge impact, and I loved it to hear the messages about the importance of.” The team and the impact of everyone, holders and reserves, must be prepared. They loved it, and Steve enjoyed it.”
Steve Kerr is looking forward to his visit to Mallorca last year and to now being another part of the club: “I became a fan of RCD Mallorca last year, and now that I’m involved with the club, I will be able to watch all the games of La Liga.” It’s very motivating, and not just from a shareholder perspective, but with all that that entails, putting your heart into it and being part of the club, and that’s exciting.”
Steve Kerr joins another NBA great, Steve Nash, a two-time MVP, as a shareholder in RCD Mallorca.
Kerr has been in charge of the USA national team since 2021 and will do so until 2024. On the other hand, he has managed the NBA team the Golden State Warriors since the 2014–2015 season, where he has managed 711 games with a record of 473 wins and 238 losses, winning 4 NBA titles in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022.
He was also a five-time NBA champion during his time as a player: in 1996, 1997, and 1998 with the Chicago Bulls, and in 1999 and 2003 with the San Antonio Spurs.
