There may not be a more foolproof maneuver to perform than biking on a public road. But like all stupid actions, it also has unpleasant consequences.
In a shocking video, a bike rider has become a victim of a horrific accident while running on the road. Our Indian roads are already infamous for being dangerous partly due to negligence towards traffic rules and partly due to lack of knowledge about them. This latest incident is a result of the past where a group of bikers are seen running madly at each other on a busy twisty road on a highway.
Biker involved in accident during road racing
The video has been uploaded to YouTube. We would like to give a little warning to all those who are a bit sarcastic as the scenes are a bit frightening. It captures a group of bikers racing solely on a public road. In the beginning a biker is seen twisting his left leg while driving at high speed on a curvy road. This is quite dangerous in itself, but in a few moments the other fellow biker overtakes him at a faster speed. The visuals are developed from Go-Pro footage recorded by one of the riders.
Moments after the insane overtake, the rider refuses to return to his lane and rides on the wrong side of the lane on a blind curve. And of course, a Maruti Alto is coming from the other side. Before anyone can react, the biker hits the front left side of the car and is thrown into the air. He lands on the side of the road a few meters away from his bike. His bike suffers heavy damage and somersaults in the middle of the road. It is a difficult phenomenon to watch so closely.
We are not sure of the injuries sustained by the rider or the driver of the car, but the car also suffered significant damage. The most disappointing thing is that it was not the fault of the car driver. It becomes important to raise awareness about such idiots who walk the streets as if they are all alone. They end up hurting the people who follow the rules. So, be sure to discourage such behavior if someone you know is doing such a thing. Let us pledge to make our roads safe.
