“I wish I had put my ancestor’s nose on it,” she said. “I think I would have grown into it.”
Hadid has been accused of several other procedures, the magazine wrote, but the 25-year-old denies this.
“People always have something to say, but what I have to say is that I have always been misunderstood in my industry and by those around me.”
The new Vogue interview details the “burnout” Hadid experienced last year, which led her to a treatment program involving medication and talk therapy. “People online were saying, ‘You live this wonderful life,'” she said. “Then how do I complain? I always thought I didn’t have a right to complain, which meant I didn’t have a right to get help, which was my first problem.”
While she points to “many childhood traumas,” it’s clear that the pressures of working in the fashion industry have taken their toll.

“I’ve seen girls on my lap crying at four in the morning, still at fittings for one show when they have to be on another show at 7 in the morning,” she said. “Completely destroyed, hair burned, didn’t eat anything, exhausted to such an extent that they trembled.”
Hadid acknowledges that progress has been made in recent years, but there’s still a lot to be done because “fashion can make or break you.”
She told Vogue: “Ultimately girls stand out about sample size, but when I first started seven years ago, I couldn’t fit into Saint Laurent. And I found a stylist talking about my weight. Was because I couldn’t zip.
“Looking back, I think, yes, because the sample size of Saint Laurent from the runway was not the actual size for anyone. But then you think there’s something wrong with you, and no one around you is saying ‘No, no, you’re like, ‘Okay, don’t worry, it’s a small size.
“I was the ugly sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t cool like Gigi, not outgoing,” she said. “And unfortunately when you’re told things many times, you just believe it. I always ask myself, unbelievable insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, hate to touch.” Hai, how was the girl, who has deep social anxiety – what was I doing in this business? But over the years I became a good actress.”
