The Supreme Court has expressed its dissatisfaction with the central government’s vaccination policy. The court said offering free vaccinations to people over 45 and paid vaccinations to people under that age is cumbersome and arbitrary at first glance.
Supreme Court orders submission of roadmap
The Supreme Court has asked the central government to submit a roadmap on how it plans to vaccinate all adults in the country by the end of December. The government had previously told the court that it would work to vaccinate everyone by the end of this year. The central government has repeatedly raised the issue in response to opposition criticism.
The Supreme Court also reacted strongly to the government’s argument
Regarding vaccination policy, the Supreme Court said that people aged 18-44 not only get infected but also cause many other effects. They have to stay in the hospital for a long time and even die. The Supreme Court has also reacted strongly to the government’s argument that the court should refrain from enforcing policies.
The Supreme Court said the court could not remain silent at a time when the constitutional rights of citizens were being violated.

The court said our constitution does not say courts must remain silent when citizens’ rights are violated. The bench asked the government how Rs 35,000 crore has been spent so far in the budget for vaccines and what is used for people aged 18 to 44.
The court asked the government to file an affidavit indicating when and how it purchased Covishield, Covexin, and Sputnik-V.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court asked the Center on Tuesday why young people were not given priority in corona treatment. The court said people who have reached the age of 80 have lived their lives. In such cases, young people should instead be given priority in treatment.
