A giant Great White Shark was filmed swimming with a vacationing family on a boating trip near Cape Cod, Mass. – the fear in the hearts of beach-goers.
An unnamed family of five from Iowa rented a fishing boat to catch lobster on Monday, according to jaw-dropping footage posted on Facebook, when they rammed 15 miles from the ship just below the water’s surface. Seeing the feet floating in the distance.
“Holy smokes, that thing is huge, man! That thing is like 15 feet! This thing is huge,” a passenger can be heard shouting in the video posted by Billingette Charters.
David Stamatis, who owns the boating company, moved the ship closer to the big man-eater to give the family a better look, he told Boston.com.
“They were thrilled, it made their trip. Not only did they catch a bunch of fish and lobster for dinner—it was an incredible bonus,” Stamatis said.
Stamatis said the shark was seen in about 60 feet of water, about four miles off the coast of Wellfleet in Cape Cod Bay.

“It is a majestic, beautiful, gigantic animal and for those watching it up close, it is a once in a lifetime event,” he said.
But he acknowledged that Apex Predator might not feel quite impressed with his audience of humans.
“Whether you like them or not, you have to respect them,” he said. “You could be the next check on his food list.”
