Around five o’clock in the afternoon this Friday at the Court of Seville the popular jury verdict in a case that created many social effects in June 2021. RocÃo CaÃz, a 17-year-old girl with a baby just a few months old, has disappeared. He was last seen on the 2nd of that month. Eight days later her boyfriend was arrested. now, Adrian N., from Romania, was found guilty of murdering and sexually assaulting his ex-partner. Then he dismembered, put the pieces of his body in ten garbage bags, and hid them in different parts of Estepa and the apartment where the two lived in the aforementioned town until the past months.
In this way, the popular court supported the thesis of private accusations, brought by lawyers MarÃa José Atoche and Amalia Calderón, on behalf of the parents of RocÃo and his son, respectively. These accusations plead for the accused a reviewable permanent prison sentence.
On the other hand, the Prosecutor’s Office, based on the verdict of the jury, had to change its request for a conviction for Adrián, because it considered the events as homicide. After all, RocÃo, in the opinion of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, their is a possibility of self-defense. In addition, he does not appreciate sexual assault.
According to the jury, Adrian chokes him with the rope from behind ensuring the death result of his action, leaving no possibility of defense for RocÃo, who was surprised by the attack.
In addition, the members of the popular court considered that Adrian had sex with RocÃo against her will and used violence. In this way, they concluded that he killed her because he did not accept the breakup of the relationship and only because of being a woman.
