The AFA grants a million figure to provincial clubs

The President of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia, assured that the company’s desire is to have more “federal” competition Therefore, five million pesos are granted to provincial leagues with teams participating in regional tournaments.

“This is a leadership that wants football to be federal,” Tapia stated at the second meeting of inland football leaders in San Juan.

The event was attended by eight thousand executives, who heard first-hand information about the AFA’s move to provide parent company support to leagues whose teams compete in regional tournaments. “The leagues get five million pesos,” assured the leader in his short speech.

In addition, participating Federal A clubs will receive a forty percent increase in their television rights revenue from the AFA. This increase will also benefit First National, First B, First C, and First D teams, Tapia said.

“We had competitive tournaments inland. We always knew how and what to do to get Argentine football back on its feet. “There were several league tournaments played during the week,” he recalls.

“The teams in the leagues bleed to qualify. Now they are valued, and we have a strong Federal A,” he said.

Tapia was accompanied by Pablo Toviggino, Chairman of the Federal Council and Treasurer of the AFA, and the Governor of San Juan, Sergio Uac, also attended.

“History will show that Tapia is the best AFA president ever,” the outgoing governor said. Another attraction of the event was the display of the trophies won at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the 2022 Final, and the 2021 Copa America.
