The African Union and Books for Africa, based in St. Paul, partnered to advance education and literacy in Africa. Books for Africa has shipped over 52 million books to the continent and served all 55 African countries.
“We welcome and appreciate this opportunity to partner together to ensure that more children as well as adults have access to the latest and latest information,” the ambassador said in a statement. “We all know that knowledge is power. We appreciate the power of education as a means for Africa to achieve its full potential.”
The two organizations are discussing further partnership projects, including publishing books in local languages for children across the continent.
