The Extremadura Service for the Promotion of Autonomy and Care for Dependency (Sepad) of the new PP-Vox regional government has decided to change the location of the future senior center destined for Pescueza for Torrejoncillo, both in the province of Cáceres.
According to the Extremaduran Executive, this change is “crucial” to avoid “the possible loss of 38 million euros” of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM) Funds, intended for the construction of eight new Convalescence and Care Centers in the region, one of which is in Pescueza.
The Junta de Extremadura continued to explain that “the pressure of time forced” Sepad to choose Torrejoncillo (with a PP local government), since this town occupied second place in the selection made by those responsible for SEPAD in the former government.
It says that the original location planned by Pescueza (PSOE local government), intended to cover the socio-sanitary area of Coria, “does not meet the necessary conditions, because it is located in the undeveloped land and lack of public facilities and infrastructure needed to realize the project.”
“Due to legal deadlines, it is impossible to implement the construction of this center in Pescueza because the established time intervals cannot be reached to access the financing of the recovery and resilience funds required by the European Commission,” it continues. ensuring the PP-Vox government led by María Guardiola.
A situation that “endangers” the implementation of the project financed by the MRR Funds, which includes the construction of seven other centers in Extremadura, located in Guareña, Herrera del Duque, Piornal, Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena, Brozas, and Tejeda of Tietar.
