With four months to go until the candy, Santa Claus and lottery season, there are Spaniards who are already going to the stores to buy their tithes. There are people who have preferences, either for a specific event like a birthday or anniversary, or simply because a certain number makes them lucky. Therefore, anyone planning to enter the Christmas Lottery should be aware of the change that has been set for this year’s raffle: 5 more series will be brought into play.
Why is the change happening?
As explained by Jesús Huerta, President of LoterÃas y Apuestas, the changes are due to the difficulty of finding some numbers in recent weeks. Therefore, adding more rows makes it easier to get the numbers that keep getting bigger, e.g. e.g. “13”.
Adding these 5 series to the previous ones gives a series calculation of 185 with 100,000 issues each, so the total number of tenths for sale is 185 million for an issue of 3,700 million euros. Of this, 70% will be distributed as prizes, a percentage equivalent to €2,590 million at stake on December 22nd.
Christmas prices
There were no changes with regard to the prices and the tenth price. The main prizes are as follows:
- Christmas jackpot or first prize: €400,000 for the tenth (€4,000,000 for the series)
- 125,000 euros per tenth (1,250,000 euros per series)
- 50,000 euros per tenth (500,000 euros per series)
add
- Two fourth prizes, from €20,000 to the tenth (€200,000 per series)
- Eight fifth prizes worth €6,000 through the tenth (€60,000 per series).
