The Chicago Bears contacted at least 15 general managers and 11 coaching candidates for interviews. While they go through this process, we look at each potential employee.
The team announced that Ryan Poles was interviewed at the GM opening on Friday.

You must know
Powles also interviews the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings this year and advanced to the second round of Giants interviews. Last year, he was a finalist in the competition for the position of general manager of the Carolina Panthers.
Chicago connection
Poul’s time at the Chiefs took up several general managers and coaches. He was on the Chiefs’ staff when former Bears coach Matt Nagy was quarterbacks coach and then offensive coordinator under coach Andy Reed.
What was said
Powles told his hometown newspaper two years ago about seeking leadership among the players he scouts: “We see these guys on TV every week as athletes, but they’re also next to each other all the time. So the dressing room should be good. If you don’t have a secure locker room, if you don’t keep everyone on the same wavelength, and if you don’t have leaders to keep the focus going, you’ll lose it.”
