Sánchez’s MEPs declared themselves powerless to defend the amnesty. This Thursday, the European Parliament will broadcast a resolution to which the socialists are forced to comply
A few months before the European elections, Pedro Sánchez had already found Brussels. If the Spanish semiannual presidency is designed to be launched again SANCHEZ, as a global progressive, more than unnoticed, the amnesty law and the political strength of Carles Puigdemont became true calvary for the socialist MEPs he leads, Iratxe Garcia
Socialist sources acknowledged to ESdiario the growing concern of Sánchez’s entourage about the magnitude of the emergence of the political debate on amnesty in European institutions.
A good proof of this is the debate this Wednesday in the European Parliament, where the vice president of the Commission, Margaritis Schinas, publicly acknowledged his concern about relations with COMPANIONS and ERC with Moscow and demanded that the European Parliament follow the steps of the Spanish judge, Joaquin Aguirre, and continue to investigate the role of Vladimir Putin in its process to, by undermining Spain, sabotage the EU itself.
In that debate, one by one, all Spanish spokespersons destroyed the strategy of Moncloa with the refugee Waterloo. In Brussels, the interventions of Dolores Monserrat, Adrian Vazquez, Love in Bagaza, and Hermann Tertsch show that no socialist MEP can refute with conviction the spokesmen of the PP, Citizens, and Vox.
Recognized by socialist sources ESdiario reports the growing concern around the SANCHEZ due to the emergence of the political debate on amnesty in European institutions.
The leader of the PSOE in Europe, Iratxe García, attended an event with Úrsula Von der Leyen.
“The group is not measuring up,” these sources assured in the face of the growing feeling that the EU has more and more doubts about the amnesty and more intentions to fight the pro-Russian lobby that “entered” the European Parliament.
In addition, on the eve of the European elections in June, where the Kremlin maneuvered to dynamite the European project, NATO and the European Union closed ranks with Ukraine.
A key resolution
Currently, the European Parliament will criticize a resolution this Thursday on Russia’s interference during the process and demand that the connections of MEPs allegedly associated with the Kremlin be effectively investigated, in a text agreed upon by most groups, including socialists and greens.
The joint resolution on Russian interference in European democratic processes, among other things, called on Spain to investigate the connections between Catalan separatism and the Kremlinin accordance with the instruction of the judicial case, which shows that the environment of Carles Puigdemont He established relations with former Russian diplomats within the framework of the 2017 push for independence.
The text expresses the “deep concern” of the European Parliament about the “alleged relationship between the Catalan secessionists and the Russian administration” and points out that the Russian interference in Catalonia “could be part of a wider Russian strategy to promote internal destabilization and fragmentation of the EU.”.
In this sense, it shows that Moscow is organizing “massive disinformation campaigns in Catalonia” and focuses on “alleged deep contacts” and meetings between Russian agents and members of the independence movement.
For all these reasons, the resolution asks the competent judicial authorities to “effectively investigate the connections of members of the European Parliament allegedly associated with the Kremlin and Russia’s attempts at destabilization and interference in the EU,” a reference that fits the situation of the former. The Catalan president and current Junts MEP, although he is not explicitly named,
Likewise, regarding the situation of the judges studying the relations of Catalan separatism with Russian Intelligence, the common proposal is “regrets” all the attacks against the judges investigating this case.
