president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero clashed with Carlos Alsina for which he was reprimanded.
During his interview on ‘More than one’ he defended his position in favor of amnesty, a condition that the acting president, Pedro Sánchez, must meet to re-issue a new Government thanks in the votes of the representatives of the Junts, and At one point in his defense he asked Carlos Alsina “if there is an amnesty, the constitutional court will say it. Do we agree with that?” to which the presenter replied “as he said that the Statute of Catalonia is unconstitutional in some of its articles, do we agree with that?”
To which Zapatero replied “yes and we all obeyed it. Do we agree with that? I was the first” and then stated that when the sentence came out he said “a misunderstanding.”
I don’t like fakes
At this point Alsina reminded him that “it is not true”, that his first words when the Constitutional Court ruled on the Statute of Catalonia was to say that he was “happy and satisfied.” “As you say, it’s a fake, president,” the director of ‘Más de uno’ told him, “don’t make me fake,” he asked him.
Zapatero could do nothing but acknowledge that those were his statements.”Yes, true, I’m sorry,” he said, later adding that the first thing he did was “a declaration of restraint and prudence” and from there ” “You heard me disagree with that sentence.” Alsina reminded him that it was after the fact when the PSC took the crisis of independence and pointed out that the problem was Constitutional.
Alsina also reminded him that the last time he was on the same program “he tried to convince me that the constitutional ruling changed the preamble of the Statute”, to which Zapatero responded by admitting that he did not change it -o and a mistake.”
