Former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf may soon be appointed as the batting coach of the Pakistan national team. According to reports coming in Pakistani media, this former batsman may soon get the responsibility of teaching batting tricks to the team led by Babar Azam. Prior to this he was the batting coach at the National High Performance Center (NHPC) in Lahore, from where he has been released. Also Read – PCB Chief Rameez Raja appeared before the parliamentary committee, told why bullet proof vehicles are used
Surprisingly, Mohammad Yousuf has always had a figure of 36 from former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja. A few years ago, when these two former players met face to face on a news channel of Pakistan, a fight broke out between the two. Both of them had said good and bad to each other then. That video of both is still present on YouTube. Also Read – Five explosive batting pairs to make more than four century partnerships in a Test series
In such a situation, it is surprising that now Rameez Raja is the President of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and it is under his rule that Mohammad Yusuf is going to get this big responsibility in the Pakistani Cricket Board. Yusuf played 90 Tests, 288 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals for Pakistan and scored 17,300 runs. His name had scored the most runs in a calendar in Test cricket. In 2006, he scored 1788 Test runs for Pakistan.
As far as the appointment of the team’s batting coach is concerned, advertisements for this will be taken out soon. Last year, the Pakistan Cricket Board appointed Matthew Hayden as the team’s batting consultant. He will be with the T20 World Cup team to be held in Australia this year.
