After the reform approved by Government of Spainpensions will be revalued annually with average CPI. However, there are exceptions for pensioners with low benefits, which can increase it more than others. Next year, Social Security estimates that the total increase in benefits be about 4%.
On the other hand, waiting for the confirmation of inflation until Novemberthe minimum and non-contributory pensions are expected to be 6.8%. Although these are provisional data, they are estimates of Social Security collected by the Ministry directed by José Luis Escrivá.
In this context, the Government believes in its forecast that there is no need to apply changes to pensions for the retirement of the next generation, because it estimates that average spending will not exceed 15% of GDP until 2050 and, therefore, the new correction mechanism cannot be activated.
In this way, the minimum contribution retirement pension for those aged 65 and above with a dependent spouse will come from 13,527 euros every year from 2023 to 16,472 euros every year to 2023, an increase of 22%. On the other hand, the non-contributory pension provides that it comes from 6,785 euros per year in 2024 in favor of 8,236 euros in 2027.
