Washington, Sep 15 (Sputnik).- Douglas Macgregor, a former adviser to the United States Department of Defense, acknowledged that the so-called Ukrainian counter-offensive was a complete failure.
“Ukraine’s counteroffensive was a total failure,” said Macgregor on social media.
The expert, a retired Army colonel, described the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, as a “political puppet” and “conman”, who previously stated that the offensive of Ukrainian troops was slower than expected.
Vladimir Zelensky’s forces began a counteroffensive on June 4, which has cost Ukraine more than 70,000 soldiers killed in a military battle with Russia, according to various estimates.
Zelensky also lost, according to various reports, about 18,000 pieces of military equipment, including German Leopard tanks, French AMX tanks, at least two British Challenger 2 tanks and American Bradley armored vehicles , which turned into scrap metal on the battlefield.
