The government of Mayor Armando Navarrete López actively participated in fight against climate change and global warming by instilling the awareness of the young generation about the importance of combating these events, so, through Environment Coordination, it conducts environmental education workshopsl in the municipal schools of Nicolás Romero.
In this regard, Óscar Ricardo Peralta Correa, head of the said department, reported that for Councilor Navarrete López the priority is to solve environmental issues, especially because of the current situation in the world, where the temperature of the planet is rising like never before. Therefore, knowledge is passed on to students to raise their awareness about what can be done to reduce ecological degradation and the damage that pollution can cause, he said.
“The president is very clear in pointing out, in his trips to the communities of Nicolás Romero, that the year 2023 will be the hottest year in history since global temperatures have been measured, so he trusts us to take actions to increase of awareness among them so that they can recognize the classification of waste so that from home they can help raise the awareness of parents and thus each of us can do our little to prevent us from continuing to pollute our environment.he explained.
He explained that, following the instructions of the municipal president and the combination of efforts with the Directorate of Comprehensive Welfare through its Education Coordination, “we are advancing together with these workshops in the schools of the preschool, elementary and secondary levels“.
Finally, the official reiterated that it is important that students become familiar with environmental issues, because from their first training they can create household knowledge to assimilate that waste classification should be doneso at the end of the workshop a dynamic is created where they use what they have learned and prove that they know differentiate between organic and inorganic.
