The Governor of Veracruz urged the mayor of Acayucan to resign from Grupo Milenio

The governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, urged the mayor of Acayucan, Rosalba Rodríguez, to resign from his position if you don’t do it. This is after the mayor warned about organized crime attempts to influence the towns of southern Veracruz.

Garcia Jimenez accused the mayor of not taking effective measures for the security of Acayucan, such as the implementation of the Municipal Police, despite receiving resources for it.

In an interview with Xalapathe, president of Veracruz, he addressed the PRD mayor of Acayucan, urging him to fulfill his responsibilities and build a reliable municipal police, using the funds from the Contribution Fund for Municipal Strengthening (Fortamun) that it receives.

The governor pointed out that the mayor’s statements can be influenced because of the alleged connection of one of his associates to a criminal gang.

“They may be motivated by the alleged relationship with one of his associates in a criminal gang, but they only show your lack and what you sayimplicitly, so he can’t manage his municipality.”

If this situation is confirmed, the president considers that the mayor should resign and allow Congress to appoint a municipal council.

“He complained, but since the previous administration he has not done anything for its Police; We have 46 Navy personnel and 80 Public Security personnel there, doing their respective jobs.

In addition, he stated that the government addresses all concerns in security and will continue to do so.

He rejected any political enthusiasm and reiterated that the mayor must allocate at least 20% of Fortamun to improve the security of his municipality, acquire patrols, hire personnel, and provide training.

“It is not possible to have only police in the Palace, “Acayucan is a big city”.

PRD said that the governor of Veracruz should resign

Sergio Cadenastate, leader of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), responded to the statements of the governor of Veracruz, who proposed the resignation of the mayor of Acayucan.

Cadena stated that the one who had to resign was Cuitláhuac himself, García Jiménez, whom he described as a cowardly, bad, and corrupt governor.

“He should have resigned a long time ago.” because he has this state of uncertaintyin a rise of blood where crime took the state of Veracruz and he lives in his bubble who did not know the fact of being in Veracruz”.
